Maple is a domestic species in Canada and ranges greatly in color and figure.
It can be quite rippled and quilted to very subtle.
It has a light color and matches well with almost anything.

Black Walnut

American Black Walnut is a domestic species to North America, it is usually imported to Canada from Oregon.
The color is very marbled and beautiful.
It has a dark brown color and really makes a statement.
It has good workability, similar to the Oak.

Cherry

Cherry is a domestic species to Canada and many other places around the world. It is quite a common fruit bearing tree.
The color changes dramatically from light brown to very dark red over the span of a few decades.
This property makes it interesting and differs it from other domestic species.
I really like working with cherry and I like that it will change over time, in all stages it looks beautiful.

Northern Red Oak

Red Oak is a domestic species to Canada and northen United States.
The color is a light orange with slight pink tones. The texture is very dramatic and the lines in the grain show beautifully.
I really like working with oak as its high density and grain structure responds well to the traditional hand tools I use while crafting.

White Oak

The color is a light yellow with slight brown tones. The texture is very dramatic and the lines in the grain show beautifully.

Hickory

Hickory is a domestic species to Eastern United States.
The color is a light yellow with slight brown tones. There is alot of stark contrast between the sap and heartwood.
Hickory is a very strong wood with a rustic appearance that I quite like. It is the hardest wood I work with and finishes quite smoothly.
